Ronelle Bester, Founder
With over 20 years of experience in PR and Marketing, Ronelle is one of the South African communications industry’s most influential voices. It was during her four-year tenure as the Marketing Manager for Dimension Data that Ronelle discovered her passion for the technology sector, and she went on to open Red Ribbon Communications. Ronelle has lectured extensively at Varsity College and UNISA and she attained her BTech in Public Relations Management from UNISA in 1996. Ronelle is a farm girl with a city heart and a love for traveling, trail running, interior and all things beautiful.
Emilie Carver, Account Director
Emilie is a skilled communications professional, creative thinker and strategic content creator. A native from Mauritius, she started her career at a local PR agency on the island before transitioning to the corporate world. In 2019 Emilie took a leap of faith and became an entrepreneur. She joined Red Ribbon in February 2021 as Account Director. She loves connecting with people and finding out what they are passionate about. When she is not working, Emilie enjoys nature walks, a good read, cooking and travelling to discover new places and cultures. She holds a PG Dip in Management in Business Communications from the University of Cape Town.
Ida-Marié Steenkamp, Junior Account Manager
Ida is currently studying towards her BA Languages Degree and joined Red Ribbon early 2018 as an intern. She is quickly climbing the ranks and has been promoted to Junior Account Executive within her first three months. She feels honoured to have started her career at Red Ribbon Communications, and is excited to gain more experience and sharpen her skills in PR, content creating and social media. In her free time she enjoys writing, and is an author on LitNet. She also enjoys music and plays numerous musical instruments.
Tanya Koch, PR Assistant
Tanya ensures that everything behind the scenes at Red Ribbon runs smoothly. Without her, we fall apart. She is extremely reliable and an excellent multi-tasker – from answering the phone to sorting out the finances, making travel bookings and even coordinating events. A great team player and the best problem-solver. When she is not organising the office, she loves spending time with her family and friends, exploring new places and experience new things.
