Humble beginnings.


Armed with little more than a laptop, a phone line and a bold business vision, Ronelle Bester formed Red Ribbon Communications in 2003, a few months before her 30th birthday. The idea was simple: to offer her expertise to the emerging Cape Town start-up community.

Quickly Red Ribbon became one of the most sought-after B2B tech PR companies in South Africa, with a growing client base that included both local start-ups and international power players.

A lot might have changed, but we’re still privately owned, and continue to base our existence on three simple tenets: work hard, have fun, and make a difference for clients.

Giving back.


At Red Ribbon Communications, we believe in giving back to our community and empowering deserving young professionals to kickstart their careers in the field of public relations. Our commitment to making a positive impact led us to launch a philanthropic initiative aimed at providing practical guidance and support to aspiring PR graduates.

Recognising the challenges faced by many young professionals in securing employment, particularly in crafting compelling applications, we decided to launch a Youth Day initiative to mentor and support deserving young graduates on their journey to establishing careers in PR.
